(Brandon and Mary's schnauzer, BJ)
Saturday was jam packed full of fun! Brandon had his last indoor soccer game. Thinh made it home in time from work to take him and watch B play. They were both excited. Brandon was very happy to have daddy attend a game and equally as proud to show us his medal his coach gave him.
While they were at the game, the little ones and I cleaned up the house and ran to the farmer's market in anticipation of Thinh's stepmom, Mary and her nephew, Peter to come visit for the day. Mary lives in Manheim where Thinh grew up and Peter is from Maine, visiting his PA relatives for a few weeks. He is 12, but is home schooled. The boys had a great time playing with him. Mary came bearing lots of food gifts for us, including quail eggs she had just gathered that morning, fresh corn from her freezer and canned fresh peaches and her famous pickles as well. And, that was just to name a few! Mary can pack a lot into her basket! We had a very nice visit and Mary enjoyed comparing midwifery stories with our neighbor Kim, also a midwife.
About 3:30 the phone rang and it was my friend Amy, from York. She and her hubby and 2 boys were in Gettysburg and headed this way for a visit! Okay! We had a benefit auction at our church that evening and they were going along. So, I called the babysitter to see if she had a friend to help watch 5 active boys and she did. The boys had a fun time playing with 2 babysitters and the grown ups had a fantastic time bidding and catching up.
It was amazing how none of this was planned as of Friday evening, but everything fell into place for a super Saturday!
